Ahh new openings. They happen constantly and are so hard to keep up with, that the very definition of a “new opening” has for many come to mean “open for no longer than a week.” But not to me! Below are 3 new(ish) openings worth noting, that will satisfy your various cravings in various corners of the city.

Prawn Food

Grand Central Market has become one of the most popular dining destinations in the city, offering a wide variety of awesome bites at classic or brand new food stands. One of the newer offerings is Prawn Coastal, a counter offering (you guessed it) fast-casual seafood dishes. From Chef Mark Peel of Campanile and La Brea Bakery, Prawn is a comforting spot to grab a bowl of paella (because where else can you grab a quick bowl of paella for lunch in LA?), clam chowder, fish & chips, grain bowls, or a lobster roll.

One of the buzziest spots in the city, Pizzana is providing Brentwood with neopolitan pizza, a “slow dough” philosophy, and modern Italian flavors in the Italian-food-loving neighborhood. The casual restaurant has become quite a big attraction, drawing pizza lovers from around the city and serving as an excellent lunch spot for locals.

After your pizza at Pizzana, why not take a stroll a few blocks down San Vicente and grab another pie at Winston Pies? Another recent Brentwood opening, Winston Pies is offering homemade baked goods using all-natural ingredients featuring local and organic produce. Swing by for dessert and hang out in their beautiful space.
